Walsh - Fulltime Resort Living

Hate mowing?  You’re not alone here at HCA, Horticulturally Challenged Anonymous. We have a cure. Yes, a cure! Imagine having an immaculately maintained yard without ever having to pull a weed! Beautiful flower beds, green grass perfectly edged without ever breaking a sweat.  Where was Walsh when I was growing up?  What would summer life be without endlessly yanking on the start cord of a lawn trimmer, stubbornly refusing to start under the blazing July sun? Eventually, as if by some miracle, the trimmer’s engine sputters to life.  I head over to the tree to edge around it and ZING the string immediately departs from the spool at warp speed. Now, I’m standing under the scorching sun with a string-less trimmer with the engine happily, almost mockingly, humming along. Thus begins the real summer experience we all know too well. Next I get to wrestle the spool off and start winding the string… humm… does it wrap clock-wise or counter-clock-wise?  Oh well, I have a 50/50 shot at getting it right… This is usually about the time I start to decide just how bad the yard really needs to be edged.  Can I let it slide another week?

Walsh understands the trials and tribulations of HCA members who are genetically pre-disposed to horticultural failure.  There are those of us don’t have a green thumb or even a brown thumb. About the only thing we can reliably grow in our yard is sticker burrs. A great big yard full of stickers!  We love Walsh!

I learned about this awesome amenity when I was fortunate enough to be invited to the new Walsh housing community for an orientation luncheon on this massive and impressive housing project. This community is going to have amenities like no other, community market, resort style swimming pools, fitness center and even lagoon for fishing and kayaking!  Walsh is in the opening phase of this massive multi-phase project that includes 1,700 acres of neighborhood parks, a school, trails, village and 547 home sites.  This is an amazing up-and-coming community. Walsh has already sold over 90 homes in their first 3 months of sales!

Walsh’s vision is a blend of technology and nature. This community features state-of-the-art technology and green spaces and walking trails to enjoy the great outdoors.  What is Walsh? Walsh is one of the largest, if not the largest, master planned housing development underway in the entire country.  7,200 acres are being developed into a massive resort-like housing community. No biggie you say? All homes in this community are in the excellent, top ranked, Aledo ISD school system. Opening for the ’17-’18 school year is the new Walsh Elementary school. This amazing elementary school has classrooms for science, music, academics and adds an A to the STEM acronym.  STEM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering and Math.  Walsh takes STEM to the next level, STEAM, to include Arts. Across the street from the beautiful new school is a great playground with an adjoining soccer field.
